SCHS BOYS TENNIS TEAM STANDINGS BY YEAR
(Doc: BOYS TENNIS)
The league started as the CCAL or Coast Counties Athletic League. The larger schools formed the A league and the smaller schools were normally in the B league. This changed back and forth during the years, which are not dealt with here. One can find that information at the top of each all sports coverage by years section.
By 1965 the league felt that MBL Monterey Bay League would be a better or more appropriate name for the league and it was changed.
In 1972 the MBL grew too large for one league, so the league was divided into the North Division, Santa Cruz County schools in one league and Monterey and San Benito county schools in the South Division.
In 1976, the schools in Santa Cruz county thought their league would be more appropriately called, the Santa Cruz County Athletic League and at this time the leagues were split off. Monterey and San Benito county schools retained the MBL or Monterey Bay League name.
For tennis there was not a lot of information on individual games in the early years, so will only list the years where the team won the championship from 1916 to 1959.
